Jeff Wang

Director / Producer / Local Fixer

Jeff Wang is the founder of Hot Island Productions and also the international documentary filmmaker who has worked as a producer, director, and researcher for programs on Discovery Channel, Travel & Living Channel, and National Geographic Channel. He specializes in identifying and emphasizing key elements of the story for filming and establishing a solid and practical workflow.

Under Jeff’s leadership, Hot Island Productions has successfully completed projects for clients such as BBC, ZDF, ITV, VPRO and CNA. The team is committed to applying practical skills of commercial production that emphasize accuracy and efficiency.

Dan García

Director of Photography / Director / Editor

Dan is a Spanish filmmaker with more than 15 years experience, especially in travel and adventure documentaries filmed in more than 20 countries across 5 continents. Editor and cameraman in more than 30 documentaries for National Geographic and Discovery Channel, among others. Embarked during 7 months consecutive on the expedition of circumnavigation Malaspina, working as director, cameraman and editor for the scientific documentary series: “Bitácora”, broadcast on TVE, Spain.

Fortuna Hsu

Director / Local Fixer

Fortuna’s work mainly explores self-identity and women’s stories. With a passion for expressing feelings through diverse materials, she focuses on working as a freelance fiction director and visual artist. She loves to experiment, especially playing with colors and textures. Her short film The Goldfish is the journey of the protagonist’s reconciliation with herself.

Fortuna was a commercial director and project manager under Temporary Truth Creative Co. with the experience of working with brands like UberEats, ASUS ROG, RhinoShield, and etc.

Besides, she works as local fixer and has worked with foreign medias like BBC, ZDF, and etc. She is good at on-site communication and real-time translation.

Ludwig Khóo

Researcher / Translator / Local Fixer

Ludwig works as translator and researcher to support the fixing work. Speaking Mandarin and Taiwanese as mother tongues, German and English in professional working proficiency. Interested in culture, international politics, history and defense related stories. Previous work project includes preproduction work for BBC and VPRO documentary team.

Ching Hong

Editor / Colorist / 2D VFX

Ching is a multifunction filmmaker who is experienced in working as producer or camera assistant on site, and also in working as editor and 2D VFX designer during post production.

Previous work including documentaries, commercial, music video and cinema filming. Her experience in various field provides great technical support.
